I visited an assisted Living Centre last week, bringing a message from the Lord, and afterwards, I went around asking the residents if they would like me to pray for them. One of the ladies, who was in a wheelchair, asked me to pray for her. I was expecting her to ask for me to pray for her to be able to walk. She responded, “pray that I would have contentment.”
Contentment is a state of happiness or satisfaction, accepting from God what has been sent, knowing that our afflictions are temporary and we can have joy in all circumstances. This woman knew the secret to being complete and whole in Christ.
“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Cor 4:17-18
“Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him.” Psalm 34:9
