So many today are marking their bodies with tattoos and piercings. Is this what God desires?

First, If you have accepted Christ, you need to understand that you do not own your body. Your body belongs to God. “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” 1 Cor 6:19

God specifically tells us that He does not want us to mark our body, “You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the Lord.” Leviticus 19:28

Many say well this in the Old Testament and it doesn’t apply. However, 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, that “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” Notice it says “all” scripture.

Lord, If any reading this have marked their bodies I ask that you forgive them for they know not what they did. I know ignorance is no excuse. But you are a merciful God and I am seeking mercy for your children. I pray this in Jesus name.
