Lord, Lord

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?'”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:21-22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Performing miracles, signs and wonders in the name of Jesus sounds good. However, we cannot work our way to heaven.

“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Interesting that these people appeared to be religious and have it all together. They were casting out demons, prophesying and doing wonders in the Name of Jesus, yet Jesus said He did not know them and that they were practising lawlessness (iniquity). God knew their heart, and it was not leaning toward Him.

The works of faith produce love (Gal 5:6). What are we producing? Do we love Jesus and others as Jesus loves us? If we do not know Jesus’ love, how can we love others in this way?
