“Oh, no, I did not mean to say that.” There are going to be times when we say things we do not mean to say. Unfortunately, the damage has been done. We can pray that the Lord put a guard on our mouth like David,
“Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.” Psalm 141:3
However, the words coming out of our mouth do reflect our heart (Mathew 15:18) and we will be judged by our words (Mathew 12:37). As a result, we need a heart examination to get to the root of the problem, pray, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139.
The Holy Spirit will show you your heart condition (broken heart, anger, un-forgiveness, fear, jealousy/envy, pride, etc).
Remember “Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening?” James 3:10-11
