When God looks upon you He does it with grace in His heart. As we look upon the cross, we see the grace of God. Jesus bore all sin and was separated for the first time in His eternal life. God could not look upon the sin.

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
