Loneliness

There is an inherent desire to feel connected. According to Psychology Today, “Feelings of loneliness and isolation affect all types and ages of people, although some, like adolescents and the elderly, are more likely to be impacted than others. Research reports that more than 20 percent of people over age 60 frequently feel intensely lonely.” Loneliness is a state of mind. As Christians, we have the mind of Christ.

“Fear not, foram with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

Jesus prayed for unity with the Lord and others,  “that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” John 17:20

It is the prime goal of Satan to divide and take the Lord’s sheep away from the flock. If you find that you are disconnecting from God and others, a self-check may be required. “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7. Are you in fellowship or isolating yourself? Ask the Lord to give you a friend or put you in a family, “God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.” Psalm 68:6
