Lifting others up by your words

God’s word is meant to instruct us. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

I often call the Bible a love letter or my survival guide. It has the dos and don’ts of life laid out within it. As I read the verse the Lord led me to today, I stopped and thought about how often I let my mouth lead.

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Ephesians 4:29

Lord, I pray that the words coming out of my mouth will be a blessing, not a curse. I know what comes out of my mouth is a reflection of my heart. Heal my heart so that I may glorify you and lift others up. I pray this in Jesus name.
