Liberty to Love

What does liberty mean to you? Usually we think of liberty as a freedom to do something. Have you ever thought about the freedom to love? Love is something that no one can take from you. They cannot make you respond without love. Love is a decision and no one can change your mind.

So, what is love and how do we maintain it? I John 4:8, tells us that “God is love.” Then, how do we exercise it? This verse: “For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” (Galatians 5:13 NKJV), explains that first we must be in the family of God to operate in a loving way, especially to those who want to do harm to us. Our natural reaction is to retaliate against our enemies. No matter how difficult things may be in your life, chaos brought by others, we still have the power of God who brings freedom to love.
