We have seen in the past month the good, bad, and ugly in our leaders around the world. We need to remember that God controls all who have been appointed, and sometimes God gives us who we want.
“And the Lord said to Samuel, “Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them. Now therefore, heed their voice. However, you shall solemnly forewarn them, and show them the behavior of the king who will reign over them.” 1 Sam 8:7, 9
Sauls’s main flaws were pride, envy, fear of man and an evil heart. Can you see this in any of our leaders today? You may not have been responsible for those in leadership. However, we are commanded to pray for those in authority over us so we can live a godly and peaceable life (1 Timothy 2:2).
