What is just or fair?
Is losing a child just; Rape; Mental illness; or, stricken with an incurable disease?
When tragedy strikes close to home, the question becomes why? Why me, Lord?
“Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.” John 11:21. What Martha was most likely saying, Lord if you would have shown up, and answered my prayer this would not have happened. Why?
God was present and saw everything that transpired with Lazarus. It hurt God to watch “Jesus wept.” However, what we deem unfair or not just, God will make right to bring Himself glory.
” Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live; And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” John 11:25-26
The stones in our life are rolled away, and we will are resurrected, “then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God? When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.” John 11:40,43-44
The unfair acts of this world will be judged, and justice will be served.
Job who lost all his children and everything he owned proclaimed, “..shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.” Job 2:10
We see in the last chapter of Job, “…So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning:..” Job received double for his trouble.
We are to “refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil. For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.” Psalm 37:8-9
“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” Mathew 5:44-46
