Is the end near?  Are we in the last days?

Many are concerned about the changes they see in the world and wonder if the end is near and if we are in the last days.   Even Jesus’ followers 2000 years ago asked the question, “what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Mathew 24:3

Jesus tells us what to look for (Mathew 24:4-8)

1.             Deception – many will be deceived

2.             Wars and rumors of wars.

3.             Nations against nation

4.             Famine and earthquakes

But this is not the end. These are the Birth pains. “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” Mathew 24:36

Even though we do not know the exact time that Jesus will return, God gives us signs to look for.

There is going to be a great falling away of the church. “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but having itching ears, they shall heap to themselves teachers in accordance with their own lusts.” 2 Timothy 4:3

“Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you,  not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of [a]Christ had come.  Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of  ]sin is revealed, the son of perdition,” 2 Thess 2:1-3

We are to watch and pray so that we are not one of those who fall away. “watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.”  Matthew 26:41
