Is sickness caused by sin?

Is sickness caused by sin? Not all sickness or ailments are caused by sin in a person’s life. According to the Gospel of John, 9:1–12, Jesus saw a man who had been blind since birth. … Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

However, we are created in God’s image and created to be in Health (3 John 1:2), “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” ‭Genesis‬ ‭1:26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Since God created us in His image, We can conclude that we were not designed to be sick and to go one step further we were given dominion over all creeping things. A virus is a living organism, a creeping thing.

”Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬. Adam was the man that Paul is talking about in this verse. Adam and Eve’s disobedience led them astray. As a result, sickness and death came into the world when Adam and Eve sinned.

Jesus came to bare the sin of man on the cross, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5. We are healed by the stripes that Jesus took upon himself. “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Rev 12:11. Through Jesus death and resurrection we have overcome the enemy.

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 1:2
