The Independence of our nation was founded on God. God is mentioned four times in the Declaration of Independence.

God is the creator, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creatorwith certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

Nature of God, “Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God”.

All is in God’s hands, “…with a firm reliance on the protection of divine providence.”

We are given freedom by God and God alone, “…we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.” 

This Independence day, “Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.” 1 Peter 2:16
