In the latter days

In the latter days of King Solomon’s life, he was guilty of a great sin. He let his wives lead Him into Idolatry. God had warned Israel against intermarriage (Deut 7:3 and 1 Kings 11:1-2). Solomon, with all His wisdom, deliberately disobeyed the Lord.

There are consequences for disobedience. Solomon’s disobedience to God broke the covenant that God had made, and “the Lord raised up an adversary against Solomon, Hadad the Edomite; he was a descendant of the king in Edom.” 1 Kings 11:14

We must be careful not to compromise and be led away by idolatry. Idolatry is raising anything above God. God will not tolerate it.

“In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths”. Proverbs 3:6
