In the beginning

At the beginning of Milton’s great epic Paradise Lost, Milton starts off the story with these words,

“Of Man’s first disobedience, and the fruit
Of that forbidden tree whose mortal taste
Brought death into the World, and all our woe,
With loss of Eden, till one greater Man
Restore us, and regain the blissful seat
Sing, Heavenly Muse.”

One great man has restored us, Jesus. Notice in scripture that anytime anyone came to Jesus asking for healing He restored them. “He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” Psalm 23:3

Healing is a gift from God, He sacrificed His son to give it to us,

“But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5

Like any gift, we need to receive it.
