I can’t forgive

I have heard soo many people say, “I can’t forgive them for what they did.” I usually say after this, “But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Matthew 6:15

People do not understand the consequence of not forgiving. When you do not forgive someone than bitterness, anger and hate can seep into your heart. Unforgiveness affects the whole person (Spirit, Soul and Body). You have opened the door for the enemy to torment. We are to love God with our whole heart, soul and mind and our neighbour as ourself. when we have not forgiven than we cannot love as God desires.

“If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, that he who loveth God love his brother also” (I John 4:20–21)

We can forgive because God has forgiven us. He sent his only son to forgive us of our sins. (John 3:16).

If you are still struggling to forgive, ask the Lord to help you.

“Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven”. Luke 6:37

“Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit.”     Psalm 32:1-2 NIV
