Humble Yourself

“How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me?” Exodus 10:3

God demands that we humble ourselves. God calls pride evil (Job 35:12)/wickedness (Psalm 10:2). He will not tolerate it. If we love God and revere Him, we will hate pride and want to flee from it (proverbs 8:13). The problem is that most people do not know if they are prideful. The enemy likes to disguise it. So, how can you tell if there is pride in your life? A couple of scriptures show us.

“When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom.” Proverbs 11:2 and, “By pride comes nothing but strife, But with the well-advised is wisdom.” Proverbs 13:10

Shame and strife are evident in your life. Shame is a painful feeling of consciousness of wrong or foolish behaviour, and strife is anger or bitterness over a minor thing: conflict. When these pop up in your life, confess the sin of pride, ask for forgiveness and humble yourself before God. He will lift you up.
