Many people believe that they are a Christian if they believe in God or go to church.
The Bible is very clear, “if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9.
We should also be living an obedient and righteous life in Christ, “Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” 1 John 3:9
And, we should desire to lay down our lives to Christ. When we lay down our lives, the spirit comes and takes up residence in us and “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,” Romans 8:16
The next step is to be baptized, “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” Mark 16:16
And the final mark of a Christian is following the command that Jesus gave us “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:33-35
