How do I get stronger in the Lord?
There will be times when you feel your strength has been zapped. So what are you to do?
Cry out to God and declare His word! Declaring God’s word gives you strength!! God’s word has power. God does what He promises.
When I am weak, he is strong (2 Cor 12:10). Yes, Lord, I am weak right now. But I am going to rely on your strength and power.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phil 4:13
Need mental strength? Our minds can sometimes take over and make us feel weak. So what do we do? Declare God’s word.
“…He who is in (me) you is greater than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4
I have the mind of Christ (1 Cor 2:16).
God will keep me in perfect peace if I keep my mind on Him (Isaiah 26:3)
Whole-hearted obedience to God’s word gives us strength. Look at Caleb (Joshua 14:6-12).
“And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in.” Joshua (14:10-12)
Believe that God will say what He does. Have faith. Know that you have a mighty and powerful God who hears and sees everything and is waiting to act on your behalf.
“I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2
