As I was working in my garden, pulling weeds, there was a small little weed. I tried pulling it out to get all of the roots, but it didn’t budge. I took my new shovel and started to dig to get to the bottom of the root. It was almost one half inch in diameter and I continued to dig twelve inches looking for the bottom of the root.
It made me think about trauma we may have experienced in our lives. On the surface we seem like all is going well, but underneath there is a big problem. Getting to the root of things can be difficult. Often we just need to let go and forgive. Letting go does not mean the offense is justified, but letting go releases us from the torture that unforgiveness can bring.
“He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3 NKJV
“But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” Mark 11:26. NKJV
