When your expectations are shattered, then trusting is difficult. Where were you, God, when…..?
A question often asked by those who have experienced overwhelming trauma. The mind tries to rationalize a good God who does not hear my cry for help. “How can I trust God?” is the question I hear most often…” He let me down before; how do I know He won’t let me down again?”
God is faithful is the answer! “God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” 1 Corinthians 1:9. Many are perplexed as if I had not heard their question.
God is sovereign and has a Sovereign will. He is in control of all things, and He has given man a commanded will to follow. When a man breaks God’s commanded will, God does not intervene. He desires that we follow His plan and His will entirely. However, we live in a fallen world.
God is sovereign and will not compromise His name. Lord, help those who have been afflicted and distressed know your lovingkindness. Help them to trust you. I pray this in Jesus name.
