Hope is the confident expectation that good will happen. It is not wishful thinking. Our hope comes from God and His word, “For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide, we might have hope.” Romans 15:4
To maintain our hope, we must protect our minds daily: “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet..” 1 Thess 5:8.
We are to think on good things, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Phil 4:8
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13. This is a hope that knows no bounds.
