We can raise up high places in our hearts due to stubbornness (Idolatry).  

“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king.” 1 Samuel 15:23

This is an act of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21), and we are at risk of not inheriting the Kingdom of God.    

It is out of stubbornness, pride and self-glorification that this occurs. Lucifer, the anointed cherub (Ezekial 28:14) lost his place due to this fact (Isaiah 14:12-15).

Lord, You created the High places for your glory. Heal our hearts and bind up the wounds so we may know you, turn from our ways and bring You all glory.
