Children’s responses to grief vary like adults. The best thing you can do for your child is to be honest and express your love for them.
- Be factual with your child. However, use terms they can understand. Different age groups respond differently.
- Re-emphasize your love for them.
- Be patient if your child is angry or is acting younger than he or she is.
- Try and keep regular routines as much as possible.
- Express your emotions.
- Look at photos and share stories. This will help your child express their emotions.
If you believe your child needs additional help, submit a prayer request for support.
