The word of God says, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”  John 8:32 NKJV. This verse would imply that we all have been or are in bondage in one form or another.

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6
