“He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.” Psalm 23:3
In some sense, the Lord has selfish reasons for restoring your soul (will mind and emotions). He wants to lead you into righteousness for His glory.
“In order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:12
Many do not let the Lord do the work that is necessary to restore their soul. We have a “I can do it myself attitude” in America. This attitude stems from Rebellion. Submit to the Lord and resist the enemy (James 4:7) from taking the glory that the Lord desires and deserves.
“Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Psalm 103:1-5
