He makes us clean

Rape, molestation, verbal abuse, various other sins can make us feel dirty. You may feel as if no matter what you do you can’t erase the dirt of the past. Jesus came to clean us from these wounds. Jesus was spit on, mocked, accused wrongly, stripped and beat. He took all sin, all the unspeakable sins that bring shame.

Hebrews 12:2 says, “looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Jesus took our shame on the cross.

“I will save you from all your uncleanness;” Ezekiel 36:29

“Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.” Isaiah 61:7
