When raised in a military family you are expected to be  “hardcore.”   As a result, I often heard my mom say,  look at all the people around the world who are suffering; our pain is nothing in comparison. So it goes without saying, her words were loud and clear, suck it up and move on. Unfortunately, mother does not always know best. Ignoring your pain and not bringing it to God creates barriers.

“Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:22 NKJV
