“But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.” 1 Thess 5:8
You have probably heard it said that the battlefield is the mind. Your mind controls the use of the sword (Word of God) and your shield of faith. If your mind has gone astray by the enemies attacks (doubt, unbelief, worries, fear, heaviness, depression, etc.), then you may be ineffective to be used by God.
“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Romans 8:5-6
God will keep you in perfect peace if your mind is steadfast on Him (Isaiah 26:3)
Submit to God and resist the enemy (James 4:7). Think on good things (Phil 4:8).
