Grieving the Holy Spirit

Did you know that you could grieve the Holy Spirit by the way you live?

“But they rebelled against him and grieved his Holy Spirit. So he became their enemy and fought against them.”  Isaiah 63:10.

“People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,” 2 Timothy 3:2

When we look at the definition of grief it means “deep sorrow, especially that is caused by someone’s death.”  When we grieve the Holy Spirit we are turning away from life and turning to death.  The Spirit is grieving your spiritual state.

“And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.” Ephesians 4:30
