Greedy Gut

magbo system

“I don’t want to be a greedy gut.” Someone I know used this term in the sense of consuming someone’s time. I was intrigued by how they used it. A greedy gut is an old slang term for a person who overeats or is a glutton. Can we be gluttonous toward others and eat them up?   This would be called co-dependency. Co-dependency is a learned behavior, a condition where an individual has an unhealthy attachment to another person. Most co-dependent people have low self-esteem and do not know who they are in Christ Jesus.

We need to trust and rely solely on God, knowing that He has made and created you wonderfully, and He will care for you.

If you fall into this category, proclaim today,

“My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him.   He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved.

In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God. Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah.” Psalm 62:5-8
