God is Supreme over all.  We so often raise up leaders in our lives or raise ourselves up.   We will incur a curse if we follow man rather than God, and God turns away from the proud. 

“Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.”  Jeremiah 17:5.    Notice, a person who is putting man before God has turned from God.  We are to turn toward God, give Him our hearts and receive what He has for us; and when we do this, we are blessed.  Put Him first in your life today.   

“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” Gal 3:13-14
