Goal of instruction

During these challenging times, where we want to lash out in resistance to what is coming upon us as Christians.  We need to step back and remember, what is the goal of our instruction, “The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. Some have departed from these and have turned to meaningless talk.” 1 Tim 1:5-6

We are currently under a fine microscope amongst non-believers. They are watching to see what we are going to do. Are we going to pass the test of real discipleship that non-believers will use to judge us?

Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.” John 8:31

Submission to Government, “Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake, whether to the king as supreme,  or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good.  For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men—  as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God. Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.” 1 Peter 2:13-17

“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:36
