“Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You,” John 17:1
We can’t bring glory to God without Him first glorifying us. What does this mean to glorify us?
Look at what it meant for Jesus—the cross.
One man died for all, “For the love of Christ constraineth us, because we thus judge that if One died for all, then all were dead;” 2 Cor 5:14
I am sure this is not what you had in mind. Yet, it is exactly what God our Father has in mind. He wants you to die to self; lay down your life to Him and be sanctified, be made holy. The cross was humiliation. Are you prepared to be a fool for God?
Even Jesus learned obedience by what He suffered (Hebrews 5:8).
“And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Romans 5:3-5
Remember, you can do nothing of yourselves, yet you can do everything through Christ who strengthens you. Bring all glory to God today.
“whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Cor 10:31
