The TV show Cheers was about a group of people that came together at a bar to drink and socialize. The theme song for the show tried to exemplify what a friend was, “Where everyone knows your name.” This show rated in the top ten for eight of its eleven seasons. There is a deep-down desire for people to have friends, for people to know who you are, not just your name.

Many people are starving for friendships, and social media may be doing more harm than good. Jesus called all His friends.

“Jesus replied, “Do what you came for, friend.” Then the men stepped forward, seized Jesus and arrested him.” Mathew 26:50

These type of friends may we be so bold to call friends.

Proverbs 17:17 says, “A friend loves at all times.” I can only assume that the friendship being spoken of here is a friendship that God has ordained. Only a true believer can love at all times through the help of the Lord if you seek to have a friend that loves at all times. Ask the Lord, and He will provide a friend for you.
