I have always been amused by the phrase, “Frankly speaking”, to speak bluntly, honestly, or the truth.
My husband’s name was Frank, he told you how it was, he did not cherry coat anything. Sometimes the message was not what you wanted to hear.
The Holy Spirit guides us into all truth. At times, the Holy Spirit may show us something that is wrong with our character, sin that needs to be confessed or that we need to forgive someone. We may not like to hear the frankness of His words and we may even try to rationalize it and devise our own truth.
One truth that many in the church have chosen to ignore is that your body is not your own (1 Cor 6:19-20). Jesus died to take sin and we have no right to continue to sin. When we do not
Let’s speak frankly, so what type of sin are we talking about?
- Overeating – Gluttony
- Not nourishing our bodies as we should
- Sexual impurity – whoever sins sexually sins against his own body
- Addictions
This is a Stark warning, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.” 1 Cor 3:16-17
