Feeling depressed?

Are you feeling depressed or lonely?

Many today are feeling depressed. Signs of depression vary among people. Some common indicators include finding little interest in doing the things you have enjoyed in the past, feeling hopeless, trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, lethargic, difficulty concentrating, thoughts of death or suicide, etc.

“Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad.” Proverbs 12:25

Some studies have found that loneliness is a symptom and a predictor of depression. Loneliness is a feeling of being alone. Cut off from the world. People can feel alone and still have people around them.

Jesus experienced extreme heaviness on the cross, “Reproach has broken my heart, And I am full of heaviness; I looked for someone to take pity, but there was none; And for comforters, but I found none.” Psalm 69:20

When heaviness comes upon someone, they struggle to find anyone that can comfort them. Cry out to the Lord for help. Jesus understands and will provide comfort.

“My soul melts from heaviness; Strengthen me according to Your word.” Psalm 119:28

Hope and the word of God will protect your mind from depression, “take the helmet of salvation (hope (protects our minds), and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;” Eph 6:17
