Favor

As I was talking to my daughter on the phone last night, she hit a car. She had just arrived home and was backing up into a parking spot.

According to the National Highway Traffic Administration, 69% of car accidents occur when you are ten miles from your home. She fell within the statistical rule.

She immediately said I have to go, Mom. I prayed that she would be given favor. The man’s car had a small dent and a scratch. She was definitely at fault; she was responsible for the damages. When I talked to my daughter later, she said, “Did you pray for me?” I said yes, I did, and I prayed that you would have God’s favor.

Grace is God’s unmerited favor. It gives us a second chance. Our debt has been paid for, and we are justified.

“But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it says: “When he ascended on high, he took many captives and gave gifts to his people.” Ephesians 4:7-8
