Falling asleep on the job

When I worked for the Federal Government, I had a boss who had been diagnosed with Narcolepsy. When he was under pressure or stress, he would fall asleep. My job was to keep him awake during meetings, act on his behalf and fill him in on what he missed. In other words, keep him out of trouble.

I believe the church has a spirit of Narcolepsy. They are falling asleep on the job. As the forces of evil are rising and we see things getting darker, we are to shine brighter.Jesus Christ is in the midst of the Churches and warns:

You have left your first love, repent and do first works (Rev 2:5-6); do not fear and be faithful until death (Rev 2:10); do not bow down to other gods (Idolatry); repent. (Rev 2:14-16); because you allow Jezebel, the spirit of error and false doctrine to come in, repent. (Rev 2:20-22); watch and strengthen the things which remain (Rev 3:2-3); and, do not be lukewarm (Rev 3:16-17).

Only two churches in the book of Revelation were praised and encouraged. The church of Philadelphia and Smyrna:

“Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.” Revelation‬ ‭3:10-11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.”‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3:21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
