Did you know you could be an enemy of God? Jesus said, “He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.” Mathew 12:30
You must choose a side. Once you choose a side by accepting Christ as your saviour, you must walk on God’s side. “And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight” Col 1:21-22
You must also remain on God’s side. Notice the condition of the promise of Jesus work on the cross. “if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.” Col 1:23
The condition requires you to remain in faith. You do this by hearing God’s Word and being a doer of the Word. Faith without works is dead faith (James 2:14-26). We must live by faith (Gal 2:20) – Live in trusting Jesus; be fully assuredthat God has the power to do what He has promised. We live Holy lives not to gain righteousness but because we have already been made righteous.
“Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.” Col 3:5
