I was hiking today and thinking about what God wanted me to bring forward for a devotion. I heard the word elasticity. I thought this was strange. What is God trying to tell me?

Elasticity is the ability of a deformed body to return to its original shape when the forces causing the deformation are removed. 

According to 1 Thess 5:23 we are made up of Spirit, soul and body, and we are created in God’s image. However, sin distorts who we are in Christ, allowing the enemy to bring sickness upon us. 

“When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you. But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the paralytic, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!” Mark 2:5,10-12

Notice the man’s sins were forgiven, and he walked.   

God wants to restore you completely and make you whole in Him. In order to accomplish this, the force that is causing the distortion needs to be removed. Ask the Lord to show you if there is anything in your life that is not of Him. Jesus is faithful to forgive and break the bands of the enemy. 

“Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!” Psalm 107:19-21
