Do you ever wonder why your relationship is not growing with God?

Could it be there is something in your life that you have raised above God? God says, “Do not turn to idols, nor make for yourselves molded gods: I am the Lord your God” Leviticus 19:4

God warns us not to make idols. An idol is anything we put before God—people, our identity (self), pets, coffee (I know you are laughing), money, etc.

So why do we replace God with something that cannot save our souls?

It is because there is a part of us that is not dead to the flesh. Your flesh wants to do what it wants to do.

“‘The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously’? James 4:5

God wants all of our hearts. Ask the Lord to show you if there are any idols in your life; if so, ask the Lord to forgive you and seek the Lord with all your heart.
