Do We Know How to Love?
We know we are supposed to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us; but how to we do that? Someone in my family was battered. It was not easy for me to forgive and love that person. I had to work with God and only He could give me the ability to forgive and pray for that person to be blessed with God’s salvation.
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation [sacrifice, making us favorable in God’s sight] for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”
