Crying Out to God

Crying Out to God

Have you ever had the experience where you cried out to God in such desperation that your insides hurt? There is an example of Hannah crying out in prayer to God in the temple and Eli, the priest, thought she was drunk.

“But Hannah answered and said, ‘No, my lord, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD. Do not consider your maidservant a wicked woman, for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief I have spoken until now.’”                      (I Samuel 1:15,16 NKJV)

“And whatever you ask in My [Jesus’] name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name I will do it.” John 14:13,14  NKJV

Hannah’s prayer was answered. Her firstborn son was Samuel, who became a Judge of Israel. God used Samuel to anoint David king of Israel.
