During these times of pestilence, virus, you may have heard people say; I am covered by Jesus blood; I don’t need to worry. What does it mean to be covered by “the blood”? Jesus was the last sacrifice. He shed his blood to cover our sin. However, His blood continues to work for us. Leviticus 17:11 says that life is in the blood. 

The Passover shows clearly the application of the blood of the Lamb. A lamb was to be slaughtered, and blood applied using hyssop to the sides and top of the doorframes (Exodus 12). If the people stayed in the house, they were covered, protected. 

Revelation 12:11 says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” 

We apply the blood to ourselves via our testimony of what Jesus has done for us by dying on the cross. Hence we overcome.
