Correction Comes From Love

Correction Comes From Love

How do we correct our children? Do we take a privilege away, or send them to their room for time to think?

In Proverbs 3:11,12, it instructs a child not to despise the correction of the LORD, because it shows us His love for us by His correction. When He forgives our sin or transgressions, He doesn’t want to leave us there. God wants to bring us out and into a relationship with Him. In this process we need to repent (meaning to turn around in go in another direction).

If our parents corrected in God’s way, they did it because they loved us. They tried to shield us from the consequences of directions we should not go.

“My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, nor detest His correction; for whom the LORD loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights.”

Proverbs 3:11,12  NKJV
