Continuing Resolution

The Government shutdown a couple of days ago, the Continuing Resolution (CR) was not passed by the Senate. A CR is an appropriations bill that sets aside money to government agencies until the annual budget can be agreed upon by the President and Congress. Many have been told not to report to work. As a result, there may be uncertainty about when the next paycheck may come or even fear about the safety of our country. As I meditated on the continuing resolution terminology, it struck me that the synonym for resolution is steadfastness, not to waiver or to persevere.

No matter the circumstances that we find ourselves as Christians we must continue without wavering, preserver.

“Faith Triumphs in Trouble
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.”. Romans 5:1-4
