Come to God
How are you spending your time? Are you seeking the Lord? Are you coming into His presence?
What we spend our time doing reflects on what we value. God wants an intimate relationship with you, to fellowship. He wants you to worship Him.
Worship leads you to focus on God. John Piper says, “True worship is valuing, treasuring God above all else.”
Psalm 95 shows us how to come before the Lord, be in His presence
“Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.
For the Lord is the great God,
And the great King above all gods.
In His hand are the deep places of the earth;
The heights of the hills are His also.
The sea is His, for He made it;
And His hands formed the dry land.
Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.” Psalm 95:3-6
We come before God with thanksgiving, thanking Him for His goodness; praising Him for His greatness; and, worshiping Him for His Holiness. When we are in a state of worship, fellowship with God, we are hearing His voice and service follows (obeying Him).
