This weekend, the temperatures in Florida are projected to go below freezing. Iguana warnings have been issued. In certain areas in Florida, Iguanas will fall from trees and appear dead. However, they are what is called cold-stunning; they are not dead, they have temporary paralysis.
Many Christians could be called cold-stunned. They are lethargic. Not moving for the Lord. They appear to be dead, not alive in Christ. We are not to discard them. We are to minister to them.
“My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins”. James 5:19-20
One final note: iguanas rely on external sources of heat to regulate their body temperature. We are to rely on God to regulate ours. We don’t want to hear these words from Jesus, “So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” Rev 3:16
