How Close Can We Get to God?

Right before I woke up this morning, the Lord came to me in a dream and said, “I am closer than your heart.” I woke up and thought, “Wow! How can God be closer to me than my heart?” It was reassuring to me as I have been asking Him for more spiritual wisdom and more revelation of Him and His word. He knows my heart better than I do. If there is anger or unforgiveness hiding in my heart that I cannot see, He knows it is there.

I have faith that when I ask God to cleanse my heart and show me any wickedness that may be present, so I can be rid of it, He will show me. I do not want anything to come between God and me that would weaken my relationship with Him. And it is good to know He is close.

“…But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”  Proverbs 18:24  NKJV

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
